3D View Notes

Here's what I've noticed from watching all my team's games in the 3D viewer:

OotP 3D Problems

1. Smoother camera transitions in 3d mode
They're abrupt and jarring.

2. Smoother box display removal/appearance transitions.
Again, abrupt and jarring.

3. Problem with camera switches following a batted ball
If the ball goes to an outfield corner, the camera often doesn't show the ball or the player, causing the viewer to miss the play.
The Action Camera should center the fielding player, not the ball. Actually, it doesn't center the ball at all (maybe it does once, right at the beginning).
This leads to weirdness like an outfielder catching a ball off-screen and the Action Camera showing an empty field.

4. The Action Camera is not Widget aware.
Compounding the problem with 3., above, since the action camera isn't widget location aware, often the play is made behind the batter/pitcher widgets.
No, I don't want to hide the widgets during play. See 13., below. It's hard enough trying to get stats, but I have to squint already to see them. And if I do that, they're only there briefly, I let the game play itself until I want to step in. Also, see 1. and 2., above for how jarring it is to have them appear and reappear.

5. Can't interact with the widgets during game-play while watching/managing a game.
They're completely unresponsive. This is nearly infuriating. During a simple play, I might want to see what the current batters' line-scores are. But I can't. Or maybe I want to reposition one of the widgets. But I can't.
The overlay should be an entirely separate layer from the 3d camera, yet, bizarrely, it's not.
Honestly, this is the weirdest one. The 3D engine is acting like it's drawing the whole screen at once. It shouldn't be. It should draw the 3D view of the players and the field and the camera.
Why is it handling the widgets at the same time as the players? That should be a separate, non-blocking function call. If the engine must draw everything at once, set up interrupts for input events.

6. Widgets reset themselves between plays.
No, I scrolled down on that widget for a reason. If I wanted it reset, I would have done it myself. See above, it's like they're being pulled from settings anew.

7. Clicking on an opposing player's name in the player widget does not bring you to the player's page, but to the opposing team's substitution screen.
I'm not clicking on an opposing batter's name to sub him, I want to see his stats! (same for fielders).
In fact, I already *have* a great big button marked "Substitution", can we have the action of clicking on a player's name bring us to the player's info screen instead, all the time?

8. Ability to move fielder widgets when set to "customizable" is oddly restrained.
Try moving a 3B widget to the OTHER side of the foul line. Or a batter widget to the other side of the plate.

9. Related, player widgets do not behave well when being moved, they'll snap back part way between where you dropped them and where they originated. It's odd and frustrating.

10. Layering is weird on widgets.
Something that is displayed on top, will often not be the thing grabbed when widgets are stacked on top of each other, even partially. It's like the interaction layers don't match the display layers.

11. PbP isn't smart enough to newline text that extends beyond its box.
Given that I have a HighDPI display and can't see a bloody thing, I have to use the GIANT font in the PbP box. I am unable to read any of the longer lines of text.

12. Popup asking about base-running redraws the whole screen, showing the desktop briefly.
In fact, every time there's a context switch, the 3D engine is blocking input and doing waaaay more work than it should be.
These are simple graphics without many vertices, I should not be seeing blue wait-circles on my cursor, ever. No. Really. That machine has a Ryzen 9, 48GB of RAM and an RTX2080 Super. Yet, there they are.

13. HighDPI screens render overlay text absolutely unreadable.
Guys, it's TINY, for the love of every god of baseball, please fix this. Give me font control, or have fonts resize dynamically, or something, anything. Same with the management screen, the fonts are unreadable. Plz, plz, plz fix!

14. Full screen mode doesn't prevent screensavers or power saving mode during games.
It really should.

15. Other Games widget is wonky.
Games that started before the watched game sometimes never start, games that finish disappear instead of sticking around and showing final scores.

16. Can't resize the top-bar widget.
I've got plenty of screen real estate thanks to the fact that everything is unreadably tiny, I'd like to make the PbP screen wider, or make the widget taller or, you know, fiddle with it.

17. Widgets that are expanded, when shrunk back down, do so from the top, moving the bottom of the widget UP.
It should be the other way around, they should resize from the bottom, moving the top down. To see why, expand the batter/pitcher widgets fully. Now shrink them down. Have fun putting them back where they were.

18. (not 3D game engine related) Division Graph on team home pages is cut off at the bottom, rather badly.
