Trying hard not to vent my frustration...

This server-transition looks to be a VERY bad idea. I understand it was probably forced by COM2US on OOTP, but there's few better ways to piss off your user base than this.


I really REALLY want these guys to succeed, but each hour that goes by without some sort of status post is more than frustrating.


Please guys, tell us what's going on - even if it's bad news?

2. I should have thought of discord before I posted - but that's another issue... it seems Discord is the future platform for OOTP rather than the forums

Yeah I'm struggling to remain positive as well. Or at least not negative. The constant issues are pretty tough.

Almost 30 games in and Perfect Team has yet to work.

Almost 20% of the season is done.

This is straight embarrassing.

Right now, obviously the OOTP team has got their hands more than full trying to fix this mess. After that is eventually done, what I wish they could do is provide us a full explanation of what has happened and why. Based on what they've said previously, the fact OOTP launched a month later than usual, and the fact PT23 didn't launch with the rest of the game, the change in backend providers appears to have happened pretty late in development I'd really like to know why that happened.

For me, the frustration comes in knowing that the details I would like to have are things the OOTP is probably unable to discuss publicly because of contractual and other legal issues.

Personally I don't really think I need an explanation. Even if they could say who or what was responsible for this nightmarish launch, it wouldn't change my perception of it. All the people who work on this game are super nice and I feel really bad for them... but the product just stinks right now. Might not be any of their faults and if it was, I still wouldn't want to be mean to them or anything.

I'm trying to think if I'd have been more upset if they'd just announced at the beginning of April that the game wouldn't launch until mid-May - I might have been similarly bummed out? I don't know. I was really excited to throw myself into the game and I've tried to... I still might but I'm losing steam pretty quick.

I was bummed at the original delay but it actually worked out just fine for me because I got into MLB The Show 22. I hardly played last year's version much at all on my XB1. The delay caused me to go elsewhere for my baseball video game fix. Now I have two games I like. Unsurprisingly, 99% of my time in MLB The Show has been in the Diamond Dynasty mode that's similar to PT.

The reason I wish the development team could talk more about these issues is that, based on the timeline, I firmly believe this isn't their fault. If the backend provider change happened late in development as I highly suspect, it's not surprising there are problems. They've done a great job with this game for so many years. I hope the franchise isn't irreparably harmed because of things out of the development team's control.

NO Diamond pack for me, but trouble started with the sale of OOTP..period...nothing to dispute...the buyers had only 1 thing on their mind & it's wasn't quality

No, that has not changed, and we hope to get those out to people by the end of this week.

I'm guessing the load was just to much for the servers to handle. But, the sim timer is counting down now, so maybe they got the warp drive on line again.
