Discrepancy: SBA/Runners Thrown Out vs SB/Caught Stealing

I'm not sure if this is a bug but I noticed a discrepancy when running some yearly sims and was curious if there's an explanation.

First I checked the team total Stolen Bases and Caught Stealing stats and these lined up with IRL totals (in this particular case it was 2312 sb/787 cs). However, I then checked the team fielding stats, which in this case had 6038 SBA and 1337 CS. To check if this was an issue with the team calculations, I also added up the individual player stats and these same numbers checked out.

How is it possible for such a drastic discrepancy between the stolen base/caught stealing batting stats and the stolen base attempts/runners thrown out fielding stats? My first assumption was that there are extra plays that get counted as runners thrown out, such as pickoffs to first, but the difference is too large to chalk up entirely to that.

I've noticed something similar. It's almost as if every event is being counted twice on the team fielding page but nowhere else.

Is a SBA/CS getting counted for both the pitcher and catcher maybe?

Also, I wonder if pick-offs are counted as a CS in one area, but not the other.

Ah, this might be it. I just noticed in my player stat spreadsheet that there are SBA/RTO values for pitchers as well as catchers. It's not exactly a double counting, as the SB+CS=3099, and twice that is a ~150 or so more than the SBA fielding stats, but that makes a little more sense now.

That was my line of thinking as well......I can't remember noticing this for previous seasons so thought it might be a bug.

Yeah, it looks like items are getting added twice to the team totals (both C and P stats). We'll look to fix that in the next patch.
