Top 100 Prospect List

The setting says dynamic or annual, but I think I remember Markus telling me one time that the annual setting is really bi-annual. I can't remember if this is the case or not. If so, that is a good thing because the MLB top 100 prospects are now released a few times a year I believe. This is something I'd like to see reflected in OOTP. A list before the season (as it is currently) one after the draft, and another in mid to late August.

(If there are any other times this list is released let me know, but I think this is how it works).

I realize OOTP has the dynamic setting, but that's not how it really works either.

I'm pretty sure the OOTP top 100 prospect list is biannual. I see them on Opening Day, and then against halfway through the season.

It does currently reset after the draft, at least if you do a June draft.

I suppose one could argue it should follow current MLB and I would not oppose that at all. Adding several options on when and how many times? Not something worthy of adding more menu options IMHO.

I think one could do August now, or whenever they want, by turning on dynamic, advancing a day (may not be required), and then turning it off? I believe OOTP would make a new list and then lock it using this method.

Yes, I think it should reflect the actual MLB Top 100 Prospect List. As for the name "Annual"....that likely needs changing, as it's misleading since it's more than once a year. Right now I guess it's bi-annual, but as I said, I'd also like to see tri-annual.

Yea it actually not being once a year is something that bugs me and its been that way for multiple generations. With a draft not in season (mines December 30) "Annual" gives you a prospect ranking on the first day of the season and the first day of the offseason. Clutters up the player history page in my opinion and I am asking for "annual" for a reason.

Hey PSU, agree it probably needs a change in name. Also, I was wrong and think it is 3 times a year. I just finished a season and got top 100 reports on:
  • Opening Day
  • Mid-Season
  • First Day of the Offseason

That is good to know. I think the only difference is that the actual MLB releases new lists during spring training, after the draft, and again in August.
