Can't open ootp23

Mac os Monterey, version 12.3.1
Processor 3.1 GHZ
Memory 8g 2133 mhz

Download ootp23, when I hit ootp23 in the applications folder I get:
Could not copy file hints_*txt to user data folder. Please reinstall ootp.
I have tried to reinstall 4 times and every time I get this message.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

This error message will occur if the game is not able to write to some folders where it's installed. The most likely cause of this is an anti-virus program or other similar app blocking OOTP from writing.

So the first step here is to make sure that OOTP is whitelisted in any anti-virus or anti-malware programs. That should fix this in most cases.

If it helps at all, this is a new computer and I installed OOTP 22 on here just fine about 2 weeks ago.

OK, I just got mine working. I deleted the app. Restarted my computer. Went to Mac HD>Users>(username)>Library>Containers and deleted the OOTP 23 folder in there and now it runs.

Hello and thanks.
I can't open 23.
Running on a PC. Also have 22 and that works fine.

hints_*.txt
I tied it on Server 1 and Server 2. I don't know what that means.
Uninstalled,rebooted my PC, intallled again with same message.
I am not computer savy . If I have to wait for the actual game to launch then that's fine. Appreciate the assistance.

I use AVAST. I don't know what "whitelisted" means nor do I have the knowledge to adjust it.

Bobbyraz49, in lieu of whitelisting it, try turning the anti-virus off for 15 minutes and installing. More blunt approach but effective...

Thank you ! I emailed OOTP to get my key sent to me again. Tried a dozen times with no luck. I will copy and paste when I get it.

I LOVE this game !!!
