Bunt / Run & Hit Issues

I've only played for about 30 minutes so far, but in those 30 minutes I've tried to give my hitter a bunt command "3-Bunt" and not only did he not bunt, but it simulated his entire at-bat, in which he ended up striking out

I also gave 2 separate "a-Run&Hit" commands and both times the runner never actually ran.

I've used these commands a million times in past versions, so I'm 100% certain this was not a user-error issue.

Going to keep trying these commands as situation calls for them as I play more and I'll give more feedback.... But right now all 3 times I've used these commands have produced issue.

Apparently, the keyboard commands have changed. Hitting b to visit the mound doesn't work either.

Yeah, I see that they have "a" as the mound visit key now according to the keyboard command breakdown at the top of the screen.... When I hit "a" in that situation it does give a mount visit.

But on offense, 3 is shown as the bunt command and A is shown as the run & hit command...... and neither has worked when I've tried them?!?!

3-bunt just worked in a bunt for hit situation with nobody on base.

still not working when it's a sacrifice situation with men on base though.

And run&hit still not working.

I concur. I thought it was a situation of the batter just not getting a good pitch to bunt; however, in the first 15 games I’ve played, I have not been able to get a bunt down (successful or otherwise) with men on base.

I've tried to bunt three times with runners on base yesterday/today (by clicking "bunt", not the keyboard command), and the batter has swung away all three times. None have been with two strikes or two outs or anything.

I uploaded a zip file to FTP called "ootp23 beta not bunting"

I actually had a few instances since the original post where the bunt DID work with men on base.....

So right now I would say that a few of the offensive commands seem to be a little "glitchy" at best

Haven't DL'd the full release yet, so this might have been addressed.

but as I played more on the Beta version I'm just reconfirming some of the offensive commands are very glitchy. The bunt command with men on base, should be a bunt no matter what situation since it would a sac. bunt. but that is definitely not the case, lol. Sometimes the batter bunts, sometimes he doesn't.

Makes any strategical managing almost impossible based on that.

(again, if this was addressed on the full release then disregard)

Just a thought...do you have the "pitch-by-pitch" AB option selected. If not won't the entire PA be simulated no matter what you click?

Interesting thought there. I do not have pitch-by-pitch selected. What you say does make sense if we were talking about the Steal command for example.... maybe the runner didn't get a bitch to run on for the entire at-bat that was simmed. Makes sense.

But a Run & Hit for example, that runner should be running first pitch. It's not really an optional thing. Whether the hitter hits or not, different story. But the runner should be running...... and that hasn't been the case.

The other thing is, I've played the same way since day 1 and these same commands were never an issue.

I think this was addressed in the final build. I haven’t tested it yet, but it’s on the list of fixes.
