Trading for money, not players

Hi,

I was thinking about a different trading system.
Instead of trading for players, trading for money. Or some buy-out clause thing. A bit like soccer. Team owns the player, you give 150 million for Messi and you got him, if he wants.
Now it just seems you are just dumping people to gain something better.
Players are not pieces, they are human after all...

Anyway. Is there a way to do this in OOTP?

To clarify, you think players are humans and not just pieces, so your solution is they should be bought and sold as property, instead of swapped for different players that better help your team?

I don't have an answer as to whether that style of contract purchasing is available in OOTP.

Yeh skip that human part. I just mean trading players or prospects just doesn't feel right to me. Doesn't mean that buying players is better.

There is the "Posting" option under Settings/Financials but I don't know if you can do it within a single league.

But this is a good idea and I'll see if I can't create a new league to test it out.

You can trade players for money already in the trade screen just add cash where it says add cash and remove any players you don't want.

They're not talking about throwing in a couple million. They're talking about a league with no player-for-player trades at all, where instead the As sell Olson for $60M to the Braves.

I would go with "please don't try to add this". Every year the "trade" module is worked on and every year people complain about it needs to be better.

Adding in a football\soccer transfer module will open up a big feature that will need a lot of support for, what I think, would be a small group of users that would actually use it. FWIW FM probably gets as many if not more complaints on it's transfer module than OOTP gets on it's trade module and they've been working on it for 20+ years.

Time would be better spent to expand on the current GM\financial side of current OOTP, IMHO.
