SDS Partnership?

First, I'd like to point out the great improvements to the on-field player models over the years. I started playing in 2006, and the new 3D modeling is just fantastic. That said, I'm curious to see if partnership, versus organic build/coding, is the answer for the next major jump in graphics quality.

I'm not going to pretend to know the ins and outs of partnering with MLB The Show developer SDS (San Diego Studios), but, I wonder, with both OOTP and The Show holding an MLB license, what would be the hurdle? I imagine there would be many, but would it be worth it? At a super high level: I'd like to think so.

The idea came to me as I watched a statcast using MLB The Show graphics. It made me wonder how OOTP could acquire the same assets to bring the 3D modeling to the next level, without the tech debt associated with iterative releases, coding, testing, and overhead.

Has this been brought up before? I'd love to hear thoughts around the subject - thanks!
