Game retires players

I have noticed that the game retires players after the league championship. However, this makes them ineligible for post season awards.

So, a player could win the Triple Crown and not be eligible for the MVP if the game retired him after the World Series.

I believe the game makes the retirements the day that the off-season starts and also the following day.

Am I correct on this?

Real life example:

Last year (2021) Buster Posey won the Silver Slugger award after his retirement announcement.

In OOTP, had the game retired Posey, he wouldn't be eligible for any awards.

On a similar theme.....I've only just noticed that when a player retires, his stats for his final season have disappeared from all "team reports" and "almanac" pages as soon as the off-season starts and when the almanac is generated. The stats are still there in all appropriate "History" pages however. It seems to be the "off season " transition when these stats are erased. Has anyone else come across this?

In my Midwest League, I noticed that Billy Wagner wasn't in the Reliever of the Year voting. So, I checked his status and saw that he retired the first day of the off-season.

He would have won the award hands down.

This is something that should be fixed.
