What does a guy have to do to make the playoffs ?

I’ve been in gold league for like 10 season. Got bumped up to platinum twice and got clobbered. Anyway in the season that ended yesterday I won 103 games and missed the playoffs by 2 games lol. Every season is different. Sometimes pitchers dominate. Sometimes hitters dominate. Sometime there are a couple teams that get 120 plus wins and other times nobody wins 100 games. I enjoy gold league because I always seem to be in exciting races for playoff spots.

Anywhere close to a volcano?
Tossing in a virgin or two for Pele couldn't hurt. ;-)

Gold is tough now

One user recently posted that he finally won a ring in a Gold league on his 22nd try.

I've just reached the playoffs for the first time in weeks as an 87-76 division winner after a tie-break. Nobody in the conference had over 91 wins, while in the other that wasn't even enough for a single playoff spot. I wonder sometimes if the alleged 'seeding' is any more than RNG?!

I am in my 25th Gold Season. 0 championships, only 12 gold playoffs and no playoffs in the past 15 Gold seasons. I am the epitome of the Lake Woebegone effect. Rarely good enough to make the playoffs. Never bad enough to be demoted. But, I think this is my year.

Since more players are completing FH3 missions, the leagues have been more challenging. There are teams that are Perfect level competitive teams falling to Gold. If you want to win a Gold title, complete the FH3 mission and you might have a chance.

My alternate teams are in the G330. The attached team is in my division. Besides the FH3 players they have 4 HOF cards and Pedro Peak worth millions in PP each. This team has won Diamond 5 times and made the PEL playoffs once. Definitely too good for Gold, but there they are.

This team did nothing wrong, but this is the increased competition in Gold that is making a Gold title harder to obtain.

Had the most exciting comeback I ever had last week. My team regularly wins 95 to 105 at Gold but last week I was only 41-40 at the midway point. Thursday I played well and had a chance at the last wildcard spot. On Saturday morning I was 10.5 games behind in my division and my team got red hot. I played the team ahead of me 7 times in the last 10 games and won 6 which tied me with them and then won the playoff game to win the division. In the first playoff series I beat a team with 127 wins 3 games to 1. Then I cooled off and lost in next round. Not bad for a 94 win team.

Going back to diamond for my 3rd time and added Randy Johnson and Yogi Berra tonight and hoping I can improve on my 53-109 record there last time.

It's crazy the difference between Gold and Diamond.

Totally agree. Despite adding three good players (
Johnson, Berra and Halliday) since my last time up there 6 weeks ago my team is doing worse than ever. Started out 2-13 and the great Randy Johnson has an era over 11. He’s doing well with other teams though so I think I’m cursed but it’s still early. Annoying when guys on your team are playing putrid but well on other teams.

Gold level has a huge variance. I happened to get placed an a very weak league after a -9 vs pyth performance knocked me down to gold last week. I'm on pace to win about 142 games. This same roster for the most part had similar bad luck about 2 months ago and got knocked down to gold for a week and won 119 games.

On the flip side I have a free to play team in gold also and the league is significantly stronger. My 140+ pace win team would probably win about 100 games there and there are at least 3 teams with better rosters.
