Baseball in the Land of the Rising Sun (featuring the Nagoya Dolphins)

The Japanese Professional Baseball Organization is an alternate edition of the real life Japanese professional league. The quickstart is on steam in case you are interested in playing through the league as well.

In this save, I will be taking over the Nagoya Dolphins. More about them in the next post.

Here's the league itself:

Game 1 vs Tokyo

We lose this game very badly, 5-1 to be more exact. Not a great start at all.

Games 2 & 3 vs Tokyo

We take the second game 4-2, largely off the back of a Shigeo Nishi 2-run homer and CF Eita Miyata run-scoring hit.

Game three we unfortunately lost 2-6, meaning we lose our first series winning one out of three.

Game 4 vs Hiroshima

We now take on the Hiroshima ballclub, aptly named the "Phoenix". They are 0-3 entering the series.

We end up losing this first game, giving up eight runs in total to our two runs mustered before the game ended in Hiroshima' favor.

Games 5 and 6 vs Hiroshima

We lose game two against Hiroshima (game 5 of the season, if anyone's counting) in a close matchup, only losing via a walk off home run by Phoenix RF Ryota Arakaki. Close but still no cigar.

Unfortunately, it seems as if Hiroshima can smoke us, as blank us 0-2 in the final game. An awful way to end an awful series.

Reminder: This team was 0-3 entering our series in their territory, and know they are 1-5 while we are 3-3. How fun

Game 7 vs Shinjuku

While the Jaguars certainly aren't a great team by any means (1-5 entering this series), sweeping them would be quite nice. To be honest, I wouldn't even mind a two-out-of-three at this point

Well, if we plan on sweeping, we are at least 33.33333333...% of the way there. We win our first game versus the Jags 8-3 in a very reassuring victory.

Games 8 and 9 vs Shinjuku

We unfortunately lose the second game after the Shinjuku offense rallied in the third and fourth innings. We attempted our own double dose of runs in the top of the sixth inning, yet it was all we could muster in a 2-3 defeat. There goes our sweeping plans I guess...

Not only that, we lose the third game giving up ten runs in Shinjuku's ballpark, Shrine Stadium. Two of which were off of a two runner from Shinjuku second baseman Hiroshi Hasegawa.

We lose this series, once again winning only one of three.

Games 10 and 11 vs Yokohama

We now have a two game series versus the Yokohama Astrals.

First game ends 2-1 in our favor after a double by Naguya RF Satoru Ono in the bottom of the 10th, securing our victory.

Unfortunately, we lose the second game at home versus the Astrals 1-5. Cooper Hummel, an American left-fielder for Yokohama, would hit a home run scoring two. It also saw Katsudo Ueda pinch hit to secure a run off a single in the 7th inning.

Games 12 and 13 vs Kansai

We are now heading on a trip to Kansai to take on the Cubs.

We win both games by 2 runs. One ends 5-3, the next one 6-4.

Next series is at home versus the Phoenix of Hiroshima ballclub.

I will now mention that I do plan on continuing this save. The only change is that I will not be covering every game. I'll be showing transactions + the end of season standings/playoffs if we get there.
