How Many Boxers?

What's the quickest way to determine how many boxers you actually have in your universe?

I notice when I go into Documents/OOTP/TB2.5/DefaultData/Fighters/Men I see 8,228 files. The most recent file is dated February 26, 2016. That's the year in the title of my current AU and makes up about 2/3 of the total files there. The rest are dated January 9, 2015.

Some of those 8,228 files must belong to the original MEN group that came with the game. The ones dated January 9, 2015 number 2,272, leaving 5,956 files dated Feb 26, 2016.

I have 3,593 boxer pics but some boxers have more than one, some have three or four. A few pics are of boxers I don't use. So it looks like I have way more boxers than pics.

I figure there must be an easy way to calculate the total number of boxers in the game. Any ideas?

[I've already forgotten why I wanted to know in the first place, but it might come back to me.]

On the fighters screen, look up at the top right next to the search box. There should a message saying (XXXX records). The XXXX is the number of fighters in that universe, assuming you have "all" selected in the division and group and active/retired.

How do you keep track of that many fighters?

What are the effects of changing a weight class and is there a fast way to do it?

I must be missing something as I am rusty at 2.5. I was hoping to use 2013 as a import tool to get guys downloaded. Has anyone attempted this?

You can download fighters in 2013 then export them as tbdx files. Sometimes you'll run in to issues like this...

What are the effects of changing a weight class and is there a fast way to do it? the fastest way to do it is go into your universe then table then division there is a drop down box there that will ask you which to move it to. Effects I really haven't looked into that at all but I did notice that CW Olin Norris was rated a 10 and I accidentally kept him in the 7-15 group in heavyweight when he was rated as a 5 and he actually did ok 6-10-0(2) but 5 of his wins came as beginner in Golden Gloves promoted due to retirements and went 1-6-0 in journeyman and lost the box off to retire.

So what are the quirks with the autoscheduler? I seem to be doing something wrong. I'll pick how many days inactive, but that doesn't always seem to work. Do I need to go month by month or is there something I am forgetting as I have been away from 2.5 for quite some time. Now getting it on my new PC and trying to create a universe to my liking. My brain hurts trying to keep track of the fighters and when and who they fight.

Thanks in advance.

I think I had something like that happen or had two of the same guys and totally different rating stats. Is there a solution or better procedure to follow?

I know President Trump pardoned him, but I am having problems with Jack Johnson. He shows up in my game with some convoluted nickname of "%27Lilart". Also, I cannot separate his pictures from those of Australian Jack Johnson. I cannot recall how or where to find instructions on proper naming or sizing of the different pictures. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

The %27 is a URI decoding error. It's supposed to be an apostrophe. As of 2005, the apostrophe is a reserved character that must be encoded when uploaded. Older programs, like Title Bout, were often built using now outdated RFC definitions that did not require encoding of apostrophes in text fields and therefore don't decode them. You can manually replace the %27 with an apostrophe and it should work fine.

If you're entering a year or a month and letting the computer pick the day it will check the days inactive. However, that doesn't stop it from scheduling a fighter for a date BEFORE a fight he's already had. If Joe Palooka fought on April 12th and you set the autoscheduler to April with a Days Inactive of 30 it won't schedule him from the 12th to the 30th, but it might schedule him somewhere from the 1st to 11th. After all, at that point he had sufficient time off...

pilight,

Thanks for the information about the apostrophe.I only found a nickname for Johnson as The Galvaton Giant or something. I guy I might have to rename the other Jack Johnson to get the pictures correct.

As for the scheduler, I usually change the month and leave whatever date is in the last line as is. My goal is to produce a history for my universe for 1900 on, but bend some of the early fighters in and then start to follow mostly history starting around 1920-1930's or so, Any suggestions?

One of Jack Johnson's nicknames was "L'il Artha" [his middle name was Arthur]. As for Aussie Jack Johnson, I've chosen to rename him and his pic 'Jocko Johnson' to eliminate confusion with Galveston Giant Jack.
