Cheap Owner
I started a career and after four years I had won the World Series. Every year my owner goes cheap with the budget and I have to sell off my upcoming free agents. This year it got worse. After ending up 94-68 seven games back, he reduced my budget from $14M to $12.4M leaving me at -1.7M so I traded off a couple of long term contracts to get into positive figures. Then as we entered preseason, he again dropped my budget to $10M now I am back to -1.7 M so I cannot do anything. Why is this occuring. Is there anything I can do to get the owner to increase my budget? I find that I need to play the game like the real Tampa Bay Rays.

I think the question a lot of us have is: Is this really realistic? Is it more realistic to not allow the owner to control the budget?
On one hand, allowing the owner to control the budget creates a challenging environment, but likely hampers the AI (since AI controlled teams presumably have the same issue) On the other hand, not having these restrictions probably frees up a more realistic amount of money, theryby likely helping AI controlled teams stay out of the red...but is also likely an easier game environment for the human player...particularly if you are the GM of a larger market team. |
