MR vs. CL?

I looked to see if this had already been covered but didn't find it. I apologize if I missed it.

Does it matter if a reliever is listed as a closer or a middle reliever? Are there any drawbacks to using a "CL" as a middle reliever, or vice versa?

One thing I've noticed is a Closer (at least a good one) expects to be paid more than a Middle Reliever

I have been saved more than once in a solo mode by switching someone to a CL role from MR. Sometimes it works, other times.....it doesn't

It may be me but I found that if I leave my reliever in during a save situation the other team rallies almost all the time.When I put my closer in he will most likely shut them down.

I've never had a CL on my roster in the ABA. My MRs have always been successfull in finishing games.

here we go again...maybe if you change your setup men's roles to closer they will pitch better

I converted a MR to a CL and he had around a 1.80 ERA with 50 Saves.
