Stadium file organization?

Beyond placing ballpark files within the "ballparks" folder that is within "OOTP Baseball 22" main folder, does it matter where and how I organize all the ballparks and their respective files?

I currently have each ballpark in a folder named for that park and all those folders within the main "ballparks" folder. And not within the "models" subfolder within ballparks. And I use a Mac, btw.

So for example, for Silvam's Yankee stadiums I would have one folder named "Yankee Stadium 1938" with all it's data files within it, then another folder "Yankee Stadium 1952" with it's data. And all those folders are in the main ballparks folder. Everything plays fine but I've only be playing since ootp21, so I just want to know if I'm potentially doing something wrong or if it doesn't really matter and I can do what I want.

And I only play with modified/user created stadiums, so I don't use any of the stadiums built into the game itself. Not sure if that matters.

It does matter when importing those custom stadiums. I did a video on how to import those kind of stadiums here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-MKCc-DUrE

When you say it matters when importing them, what exactly do you mean? Because I can and have imported them without having to store them all in the /ballparks/models folder as your video describes. And they do work all while they reside in a directory structure that I created within the ballparks main folder, as mentioned. So I'm pretty sure it does not matter in terms of importing. But again maybe you can elaborate on why it matters.

Tell you what--I can think of one case where it could matter, at least initially. I think most of the files use or assume relative paths rather than absolute ones. If I recall correctly, the pointers for the files used for animated crowds tell the mtl files to look one level up rather than in an exact place (which of course would vary from system to system), assuming that the mtl files live in a directory inside the models directory.

If that matters to you, you could go in and edit the mtl files, or move the files that animate the crowds somewhere so the relative paths still work. It's possible there are other small things like that. But as you've found, the mod ballparks tend to be pretty self-contained.

On a PC people have had issues when not installing in the Models folder. The Advertisements folder probably needs to be where it is along with any stadiums that use that folder otherwise textures may be missing.

Good point. It doesn't really matter to me that much, I tend to not use all the features of the 3d parks, but your point may also touch of some of the other things. thx.
