Emails to GMs being sent in HTML?
Hello,
First of all, a preface: I've never been able to get OOTP's "Email to GMs" in online league function to easily work in Linux. In order to work around the system, I have to use an SMTP service (I use mailjet). So that's where I'm starting from. However, now that I am in OOTP22, all of the emails that have been sent have shown up like this: ![]() Any idea what's going on here? It seems like the emails are being sent in HTML code, and I don't know what I would need to do to get back our regular, standard email format. Not sure if this is a bug or I need another workaround. Thanks for your help. |

Hello, curious what might be going on here? Were there any changes to emails in OOTP 22 that might be affecting this?
As a side note, I have always been unable to send emails on my Linux machine without an SMTP service. Not sure if this is related. |

We also get emails in this format. Is there a fix for this? A missed setting?

I really am not sure, this is not something I recall running into before. I'll try to look into this and see what I can find.

So my other league just switched to 22, and the emails were fine. Is there a Commish setting in game that should be used?

Just to circle back to this, this is an issue with emails sending on Mac and Linux machines. Previously, I was able to get around this with an SMTP service, but apparently now it looks like this on a secure SMTP. I was able to switch to unsecure SMTP server on my Linux, and it works correctly.
Just a bit of feedback, as I'm sure others will have this issue and won't know the workaround. Seems like something that OOTP can fix in the future. |

From a Google Search on GMAIL SMTP SETTINGS:
What are Gmail IMAP and SMTP settings? Incoming connections to the IMAP server at imap.gmail.com:993 and the POP server at pop.gmail.com:995 require SSL. The outgoing SMTP server, smtp.gmail.com , requires TLS. Use port 465 , or port 587 if your client begins with plain text before issuing the STARTTLS command.Sep 10, 2020 |
