Braves Pitchers having great Maelstrom seasons
A couple of Atlanta Braves pitchers are having incredible years in Baseball Maelstrom, though only one is still pitching for them. Greg Maddux, traded to the White Sox early in the season, has lead them to 1st place in the AL Central. He did this by winning 16 games in his first 16 starts! In a league containing 18 year old Legends such as Sandy Koufax, Bob Feller, Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens, and Tom Seaver, it's the 35 year old Maddux who has stood out. Under Chicago's 4-man rotation, Maddux is 17-1 and it's only June 25th. He's posted a 1.39 ERA with 3 shutouts.
Meanwhile, in the National League, Tom Glavine of the Braves is one of the top Maelstrom pitchers. He started the season by pitching 77 2/3 innings before he allowed his first homer! He's currently 12-1 in 14 starts with a 1.91 ERA with 3 shutouts.
The Braves can only imagine what could have been had they had both of these guys at the top of their rotation. As it is, after staying well in 1st place for most of the season, they have fallen to 4 games back of Montreal with Tim Raines after a recent losing streak. Meanwhile, Maddux and the White Sox with Legend Shoeless Joe Jackson enjoy a 6 game lead over Harmon Killebrew and the Twins in the AL Central.
