Roll call for people who suffer from the 'Generated Errors' message

Just like to know how many of us are suffering from the infamous 'OOTP5 has generated errors and will be closed by Windows' error message.

Hand goes up here!

Who else suffers from this happening?

i have the same problem, but only after:

I have generated a game summery/box score

and

quit OOTP (close program) then try to restart

I get that too, and it can happen at any time, completly randomly. i've tried turning off sound, directx, whatever. it seems esp. bad when i'm playing a game on the field, and when I'm looking through a long list, like free agents or something. but its not restricted to those times.

I'm also using a 933 mhz laptop. Game works as well as you would expect on my 233 mhz desktop. Doesn't crash on that.

OOTP4 also gave me weird issues on my laptop. Video not coming back on after the screen saver came on and a couple of other minor things. You guys ain't using laptops r u?

Are you all using totalminors or other 3rd party rosters?

I had the same problem (on 2 different machines). i was using totalminors rosters. i combed all the folders and files of all the leagues i had created, and several were marked as "read only" or "archive". i unchecked all of the files. since i've done that, my game hasn't crashed once.

coincidence? maybe....or maybe not.....

Do you mean in the Properties of said league? I for one use the Total Miners rosters and I've right clicked on the folder and checked the two leagues I'm using, both of them are NOT ticked read only, is this where you mean?

Yes, that's what i mean. For each lg folder, i right clicked and selected "properties". i also checked all files and subfolders for each league (sometimes it would show up on the lg folder as unchecked, but digging deeper in the folder i'd find a file that was checked). somewhere down the line (i think with the dat files especially) i would always find one clicked as archive or read only. i unchecked those files and since then the program has been behaving itself.
