Injuries/Fatigue
Just curious to see what y'all think.
I'm thinking OOTP needs to make it so players have to miss more starts due to the little nagging injuries they run into during the course of a season. When a player gets banged up in a game and has to leave, it would be cool if they maybe had to miss a game or two before they're able to return to the lineup as anything more than a pinch hitter. I'm not a huge fan of using the high fatigue setting, even though I know it probably produces the best results overall. To me it sucks to know every single season every single player is going to be limited in games strictly due to fatigue. But, I do think too many players play too many games when using normal fatigue. I think this is mainly due to the game not having enough little minor aches and pains that keep players out of the lineup for a game here and there. Thoughts |

This is doable by customizing your injuries_english.txt file. I use a file that I customized that limits any injury to 30 days (and therefore completely eliminates season-ending and career-ending injuries; there are a few exceptions where the injuries go a little longer than 30 days; I also re-named all the fancy-schmancy new-fangled-soudnding injuries and make them read more like you'd find in 1940's or 1950's newspaper). Other than that, it doesn't really increase the shorter-term, day-to-day injuries, but the steps to do so would be relatively simple.
For example, you can specify what % of hamstring strains would be day-to-day. Currently, a sore hamstring injury (depending upon which type - there are like 10 different hammy injury types in the current file) might be 15% or 20% likely to be day-to-day. You could easily up that value to 50%, for example. By modifying your file (completely removing some entries, changing the frequencies and or day-to-day %'s), and using that in conjunction with OOTP's overall injury frequency setting, you'd have a lot of flexibility to get what you want. It would be cool if we had a little more flexibility - via more injury settings & sliders - to accomplish these types of things without going into the injury file and modifying it. But I am at least grateful that we have the ability to modify the file If you want to attempt something like this an need help, just let me know.

I have done the same as thehef. When playing historical, I don’t want players injured long term or CEI.
Would like an in game option to limit time length for injuries. For example 15 or 30 or 60 day limit. I guess I can suggest that again. Did a couple times in the past, |
