Help! My OOTP5 won't load all of a sudden!

I have tried opening it using Windows Explorer, the shortcut bar, and the start menu. Nothing happens. Any ideas??? (I've rebooted 2 or 3 times already....) I haven't installed any new software or anything like that either. Very odd.

Oh sure. It won't get rid of anything. It'll just replace all of the files that come with the game. You might want to try reinstalling the patch and see if that helps before reinstalling the entire game.

I would recommend copying your league folder off some where else just to be safe.

Yes, just zip up the league folder and move it to a different directory. When you reinstall return the unzip the league folder to your OOTP5 directory and you should be able to once again access it.

That didn't work either. When I click on the icon (in either of the three places), I get a VERY BRIEF hourglass, then nothing happens.

how big is the OOTP5.exe file in your OOTP5 directory?

The EXE file is 8,164KB.

I'm running XP.....2.4GHz,512MB Ram,P4...I can usuallly sim a whole season in under 10 mintes, so the system definitely isn't the problem.

open up task manager (Ctrl-alt-del).

check your list of processes & programs - what happens to OOTP5.exe on the lists when you click it.

It shows up very briefly, then goes away. It goes away right when the hourglass icon disappears.

This happened to me the other night when I disabled one of the services in my msconfig. I put it back and it worked fine after that. Do you still have ootp4 installed? If so, try to open it. It wouldn't open for me when this happened. I would try system restore.
