FHM 8 Thoughts
I don't generally post a lot but wanted to get my 2 cents in -
I have worn out FHM7 and really like a lot of the features thus far. The layout and overall look are spot on and I hope it does not change. With the recent changes the stats are great and allow one to really dig into a roster to "tweak" as needed. It's clear the developers try to listen and make the changes folks ask for - so kudos to them. I have read where a lot of the work for FHM8 is going to be in the front office and I think that is great - it is needed. I would really like to see a notes page as in OOTP baseball because it is nice to be able to document the history and organizational plan or write your own newspaper style articles. But the biggest issue and the reason I am not currently playing is the overall game speed for a modern game. Moving day to day is frustratingly sloooow. A historic game zips along and while I know a lot of modern world leagues and activity happen behind the scenes some type of compromise needs to occur. This issue does not occur in the baseball game so possibly something unique is happening in the hockey world but would like to see this addressed. Second on the list is overall immersion and dialogues with other GM's on many issues but especially trading. The only time you can really have some give and take is right before the trade deadline when you can get immediate feedback. But even then a " make this work " option as in the baseball game would really help. Lastly, it was nice to see some graphics make an appearance in FHM7, but a long way to go. As much as I want to watch a game - this really does not let me feel as if I am watching a game or that my tactics are being played out and I have stopped watching games and simply sim them. Not wanting to finish on a negative note - - I enjoy the game and hope the opportunity and resources become available to really step this up down the road.

It should be this year, logically. Sure Covid hit hard but FHM 7 was released later than usual. We should probably be back to a conventional launch

Yeah, it won't be quite as early as it was in FHM6 and earlier, but definitely nowhere near as late in the year as 7 was. Very busy with it at the moment, we should have something to share with you guys soon.
