What's your stadium like? How good are the other teams in your division?

Probably thinking that all you need is a perfect starter to win games. Who are your bats? Can they play decent defense? Is your ballpark and your team strategy designed to fit your team? Do you even use strategies? Just finished the Live missions and am pretty much using all of the high level ones and the four starters you get are pretty much dominating save for Verlander (no shock there, he may as well be a live), who is the only one with an ERA higher than 4.00. Don't let that 83 rating on Adam Kennedy fool you, he is a monster hitter with great defense at second. Basically it comes down to two rules in PT. 1. Don't use live players. Ever. They suck. They suck hard. The end. 2. If you are losing with one or two good cards, you didn't spend enough money. Give Out of the Pockets a kidney or two. Your team will go far then. |

Games not even worth playing, live cards are ass. Devs must be on some nostalgia trip or something.

In PT22, at the beginning of a new league, I search for the number of CY Youngs in my league to determine who I will be competing with. This is my 4th week and every week there have been 3 CYs. I am sure this number will increase at the next levels. Unfortunately, I find these team in my league or division and not in the other league.

You would think Cy Young was a god and not simply just a good pitcher who could clap the Neanderthals of baseball.

K so...
1. How you are using that many high end live mission cards and aren't for some crazy reason using Alan Trammel tells me that all you did was spend $100 on points, go to the AH, and buy some budget cards. Sure, your lineup is not bad....but it's not Gold League level. Expect to lose a LOT with that lineup at gold level. Gold level is where the whales are right now, and honestly even MONTHS from now you will continue to face at least 4-5 whale teams in gold every week. Gold level is at least a $400 lineup if you wanna succeed...and it'll only go up exponentially from there. Just finish the AL live missions or buy a Trammel at the very least. Trammel is drastically superior at short to Nomar (mine is DH/1B for a reason). 2. What's your ballpark and your strategy and your order? With that amount of hodgepodge, you will want to play with personal strategies. You don't want to set aggressive team baserunning with three potato sacks in Berra, Wilson, and Slaughter. But you DO want Milan and Baerga terrorizing opposing catchers. Also, your ballpark dimensions make a world of difference. You have some very strong gap power hitters. Maybe consider changing your park to being pitcher friendly (heck, even make it comparable to parks Cy Young pitched in...that's like 450 to dead center, nobody's hitting bombs in that LOL). Your outfielders have good range, so it certainly wouldn't hurt you. 3. When all else fails...just stick to the Yankee way. "If your wallet doesn't solve the problem, find a bigger wallet.". It's what Out of the Pockets wants you to do, anyway, and honestly in this mode it's what you HAVE to do if you want to climb up with the whales. Some of them have lineups that cost THOUSANDS of dollars. You ain't beatin' that with one Cy Young card and a bunch of "good, but not good enoughs", which is what your lineup is right now. Gold is the new Diamond (diamond league used to be the stopgap for "good, but not good enough" teams, but adding all the lower levels and making Perfect only one league total changed that entirely). Your team is a Forever Silver team. Sell a kidney or get used to being there. You will be there pretty much until they shut down the '22 server with those cards. |
