Fantastic Test Of My Patience
Now that we are about a month into PT22, I have reached the point where I get to discover how much patience I have. Other than buying $10 of points on Day 1 to build my initial Bronze tournament team, I am a F2P player. I use tournaments to feed me with packs and targeted the Live missions right out of the gate. With a couple of lucky pulls and a strong start in tournaments I was able to complete the Live Missions within a week and had 20K of points in the bank. Between the live mission rewards and a couple of good pulls from packs like an Eric Davis 100 PEAK card, I have a pretty good team which will probably be competitive at the Gold level for a while.
Now is the challenge to my will power. I could spend my 160K of banked points to upgrade a few positions and be a somewhat better team...OR I could take the long view and only upgrade a position when I can bring in a truly top tier card which I would plan on being on my roster for the long haul. If I can stay disciplined, the month of May will see me set my roster for each week and let the chips fall where they may (pun intended). I’ll focus on my tournament team to maximize packs, only sell duplicate cards, and target specific BAL missions which I think will be most impactful on my team’s development. I’ll know I have succumbed to my tinkering instincts if my bank falls below 100K in order to make incremental upgrades to my roster. How do you all approach the season when you get to the point that you have established a good initial roster?

Wait for the end game cards. I got sucked into buying a high priced bronze card, today. Paid 101. It was sitting there with 1 minute to go with no bids and 25 minimum opener. I bid high figuring to buy it for 26 points, but, alas, no.
I did finish the NYY 15, though. In for a penny, in for a pound, paid 109 points BIN(shock!) to complete Oakland 15. Only 3 more "15's" to go! Nothing special in the packs, except I ended my streak of 15 or so live gold cards in a row.

My main team has packed Joe Kelley and Joe Gordon, so fate was kind to me

I’ve been saving up for that Joe Gordon card and now that I have enough, he hasn’t been in AH

I’ve been working since Monday morning to get as many packs lined up for tomorrow night as I can. I’m up to 46 right now. I’d love to get a second tourney win tonight for another ten packs. I’ll be happy with anything over sixty before the new content drop. Seventy would be better.

There’s some sort of scavenger hunt. I open packs I win in tournaments through Sunday. Once we hit Monday I let them build up until the Thursday night content release, whatever that may be.

You've already proven that you have far more patience than me, professer. I need to rip 'em as I get 'em.

It’s really fun to have a stash of packs to open all at once. I’ve had a good run over the last day and now have 78 packs waiting.
