New OOTP 22 public beta patch (version 22.3.42) available!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 22 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore version!

Hi everybody!

Since the launch of patch 2 we have been monitoring feedback and fixed reported bugs. We would like to launch patch 3 officially on Monday, and to give this a bit of a test run first, we have prepared a public beta build, version 22.3.42.

We have tested this build for 24 hours and did not find any issues, however use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta.

Changelist (22.3.42):
- Updated default roster sets and player ratings (need to start a new game for changes to apply)
- Fixed issues with games not proceeding to offseason after expansion
- Fixed mirrored lefty player jerseys
- Fixed some pitch location inconsistencies
- Fixed issues with human manager promotion
- Fixes for construction kit parks
- Adjusted in-game resolution so starting at ~1440+ width, RHE will show in the modern page
- Fixed wrong player label positions when playing games in 3D on some Mac systems
- PT: added Perfect Draft wins to Manager leaderboards
- PT: Improved handling of mission categories (new filter in missions page, updated in Manage Cards filter)
- Several other bug fixes and tweaks

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 22 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 22
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: publicbeta22
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

The transactions in the rosters are set as of opening day. To get rosters with updated transactions you'd need to use the 'live start' function.

Thank you for fixing the mirror images. You guys do work hard. Improved the 3D animations. I can see it. More use of the cut off man. Camera work. Even the double play looks a lot better.

i agree with Zappa's words wholeheartedly. And i would add y'all do great work. However, now it appears that the cap is being mirrored on left handed players. Note the F on the RHP versus the F on the LHP. Hopefully, that can be easily fixed.

I hope the crashing has been fixed. Just checked my 3 PT teams and no joking...the game crashed 3 times before I got to 3rd team then 2 more times on 3rd team..once trying to sign in then 2nd time when I tried to access AH. And I came here to see and lo and behold an update. I hope it does the trick

Yes, fixing the mirror issue makes a big difference. I play as my Cubs and my first game I had a lefty on the mound and it took a bit for my eyes to adjust to having the jersey logo on the same side as his pitching arm.

Agree too on the animations. This is only going to get better and better from patch to patch and version to version. I already like the dynamic camera and can't wait to see where it goes as it improves over time.

Have you tried rebooting the system and also a fresh install? The game is really stable right now, it should not crash like that.

Yes Markus, I've taken off programs I don't use or rarely use. My Laptop automatically checks hard drive for errors weekly and Defrags monthly and so far since I installed new version last night everything has been good. I changed setting for 3D games as instructed to do. It had got to the point of just closing out while I wasn't even touching keyboard. I hope it stays good. Thanks

We've explained this in quite a few places, but ultimately it's the AI that determines the rosters.

So it's impossible to get them 100% accurate, as the AI makes different decisions than the real life teams do.

We do massage things to get the AI to make the 'right' choices as much as possible, so for most teams the rosters should be very close to accurate, but there are always likely to be a handful of spots where the AI makes different choices.

Again. Rosters are as of Opening Day. Bruce was on an Opening Day roster.

I am running a historical league starting in 1958 managing the Los Angeles Dodgers. I play out all my Dodger games. I am unable to access the out of town scoreboard while Playing Dodger games. The error message I receive is "Live simulations not set". I have enabled the last option in the pregame setup menu to allow for games to be simulated in the background. The problem started with this beta. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Maybe I have a wrong setting but I am playing the Yankees this year and have my settings as I always have where I make Free Agent signings. Started the season and for some reason the game offered 4 contracts to RP. I withdrew the offers and simmed a day and it was re-offering contracts to players. Is this me or a glitch?

You probably have 'do not disturb' checked.

I have just tested this here and it works fine.
