Budget increased $52 million over one season?
Okay, this has probably been asked before so I apologize right from the start. Here's my dilemma:
I started a fictional league and simmed 15 years (1990 to 2006) before jumping in as a GM to take over a team for the 2006 season. At the time (2006), the highest paid player on my team was paid $1.4 million and then down from there with the minimum salary being $132,000. I played out my 108 game season and when the 2007 season started, free agents were asking for unbelievable money, $13 million-plus for stars down to $1 million for nobodies. In 2006, my budget was $28 million, now in 2007, my budget is $80 million, that's a $52 million increase over one season! Now that $1.4 million guy on my team, who is a star, will end up being the best contract in the history of baseball. So, what went wrong? What do I need to turn on so the league financials evolve correctly? Did my league stay at the 1990's when I finished my 15-year sim and then revert in 2007 to actual 2007 financials? Thoughts anybody? |
