Surprised he held Perfect after 1st live update with a 5.79 ERA? Walker Buehler 2.16 ERA and 0.88 whip drops to a 99 overall instead?

Giolito's K/9, BB/9 and HR/9 are basically still the same as the last couple of years. Those are the only three things that matter for the ratings that adjust.

If you are looking at stats like ERA and WHIP to speculate on who is going to change you're doing it wrong.

Here is the comparison of the 2 pitchers. Ok, Lucas didn't drop, but then why drop Buehler? Is it only about the K/9? Lucas BB/9 and HR/9 are worse than Walker's.

You can't just compare one player's stats in the period to another's and expect to see the same changes, because the baseline is the original ratings for each player, which are completely different from player to player.

Buehler's biggest problem looks to be a pretty sub-par K9 rate in that period that likely hurt him quite a bit.

His HR/9 (0.81>1.24) and BB/9 (2.44>3.22) have gone up by a lot, while his Ks (14.2>14.12) have dropped.
