Recreating Custom League Structure

What is the best way to create a new custom league with the same league structure (cities, nicknames, logos, etc.) as an existing custom league?

I imported my favorite custom league file from OOTP 21 into the new game. I want to start over with the same teams and everything, but I want to start with a whole new player file and new history. Ideally, I'd want to change the league date as well. Any thoughts?

Save the league as a template. Go to Game > Settings > Global Settings > click the "Global Actions" button in the top right and select "Save this game as a template".

Then create a new custom game in advance league setup. Click the Advanced tab and Import your template.

Not sure, but it might import the same player pool, but you can delete them and generate new players.

Pretty sure a template will not start with the same players. You apply the template before players get generated.

Yeah not sure, I always create templates before league creation, but I seem to remember that if you do it after it would carryover the player pool. But that was a while ago. Hence the caveat.

So, will a template keep all of the league settings in place but NOT rosters?

If so, I'll just get all my editing done now, save it as a template, and then create my real long-term save once the Opening Day patch comes out.
