Can someone make me drop Andruw Jones please?

The title is self-explanatory... I bought Andruw Jones early on because his CF defense was (and still is) elite. I know he K's a lot and isn't very good offensively just in general, but as you can see in the attached screen shot, he's won 16 gold gloves in 17 full seasons (this is his 18th full season this week) and has given me positive WAR in every season. I'm sure he's not generating much PP overall, but at least he's giving me those near-guaranteed gold glove awards every week. But he's also hitting around .200 with low-20's HR every season...

I have Curt Flood on my reserve roster. I have Oscar Charleston playing LF because I don't have Raines or Rose yet and generally just don't like my other LF options. I know Flood would be an immediate overall improvement to Andruw, but as a Braves fan I'm being stubborn and keep coming up with reasons to hold out (Remember that one time 3 months ago when he OPS+'D 120 in diamond, he could totally do that again right!?!?). Can y'all please remind me how stupid it is to keep Andruw in my starting lineup? I'm going to need some ridiculing to actually take the plunge here.

I'll bite. Ridicule is what I do best!

At this point there are several who do laps around the likes of Andruw Jones. Play Flood in left, Charleston in center, and punt Jones to the reserves. Maybe pick up an Earl Averill in the AH. He's reasonably cheap and wouldn't be too much of a downgrade defensively IIRC.

Raines is still the best option in left. If you can work your way to DiMaggio, he will be the new top CF in the game for a while. Otherwise, Flood works in Center. Charleston is even better.

Jones is a "has been" above Gold Level. Face it. We all have to let go of our favorite players to advance in this game. Good Luck to your team!

BTW, I hate to argue, but my copy of Flood doesn't play or train in left, so can't put him there. Earl Averill sucks in Diamond, even Gold (IMHO). I have the stats to prove it.

Thanks for the responses, it really does help hearing other people tell me what I don't want to accept! I'm still waiting for a silent update to make Andruw Jones' offensive ratings match what Braves fans were projecting back after the 1996 playoffs

But yeah I still need Raines' diamond mission cards to snag him, and I think I like Flood over Averill for the extra defense. No matter who I put in CF it's a downgrade defensively, so I've gotta take things slow with that downgrade.

Sadly I've got a ways to go on DiMaggio... I've got a few of the missions done though, so at least I'm on my way. Slowly.
