A couple of thoughts on the 2D engine

Thanks for a great game! Just a couple of thoughts on the 2D Engine.
- An "Average" or "Extended" highlights setting. Watching the full game is very time consuming unfortunately (Must have).
-Being able to zoom out and see the full rink. Maybe even be able to see what line for both teams that is on the ice (Just a thought).
-Maybe fix some of the weird positioning errors for the players.
-Found a bug where i couldn't get back to watch the game after i clicked on "quick". The button "play" and "sim end" was greyed out.

I know that this is the first version of the 2D engine and i am very pleased with it. But if the things that i wrote would be added/fixed, it would be amazing.

I have an answer for one of those! I think at least, might be different for everyone. But for your last concern if you just click the quick button again the other buttons become available for me.

I'd love it the way it was last year with the list of who was on the ice. Maybe we can shrink the 2-D view and place that info on either side of the rink. Or maybe we can just have names over the icons. I barely remember my own team's numbers let alone the numbers of every other team's players. IMHO, this makes it less immersive than previous versions.

Not down on 2-D, though. Good first effort and am happy to see the series progress. Just needs a little more work.

I think that introducing 2D is a big step forward but agree that names over the on-ice icons and not having the puck obscure the puck carriers number would help.

I tried pressing it again and it was still greyed out. However, i could press space and watch the game but the button shouldn't be greyed out.

Oh for sure! I rather have this than no 2D engine. It has big potential!

I haven't played it yet - so, you have to watch 2D games in full as there's no highlights option??

The first game I played it showed the game engine and when I play a game now I get nothing but player stats from most teams and notification when there is a penalty or goaI.

I want to watch the following:
2-D game engine
Medium speed
stoppages between periods

don't want too see:
player stats
timer moving and stopping at every stoppage

Yes. It takes like 25 minutes to watch the game.

That's too long.

I like playing games while I do other things and come back and watch it here and there but it's rare I would sit through a whole game(just like OOTP 21).

I mean, if you want to watch the full game, then 25 minutes is not that bad but i would love to play many games during my session. It should at least have the option to only watch all the goals.

I would like a period to last 4-5 minutes.

Since I like larger leagues to play out the most important games then playing 4 games an hour would be ok.

I'm not sure what you expect. To have 60 minutes pass by in 4-5 minutes would be way to fast. How would you even see what's going on?

Unless you're looking for just a highlights clip. Otherwise the puck would be jumping all over the place.

What happens with the "Quick" button?

That is what we are talking about. A feature to only see the highlights. Just like in Football Manager and Eastside Hockey Manager. FHM had it before but they removed it now for this version, most likely because of the new engine.

OK, it didn't sound like it from his "I want to watch a game in 5 minutes" post.

I said 4-5 minutes per period not per game.

Apologies, I misread your post. Still that's nearly twice as fast as it is now.

But with only showing highlights, would speed things up a lot.
