Salary Cap and Floor Question

Hi everyone,

In prior versions I know the salary cap didn't work entirely perfect. I remember having a cap and then teams would go over that cap anyway usually with arbitration and such.

Is the salary cap feature in OOTP21 more strict where it stops teams from going over?

I don't believe there is a salary floor option in OOTP yet, right?

There is no floor. I tried using a cap, and every time I went over because of a trade it cost me over $100,000,000. So I'd cancel the trade. Not sure where the numbers came from though.

Though you can't put in a floor itself, you can give whatever amount you want in the National Broadcasting contract. If you do that, every team will get a certain amount and generally they spend around that amount

Would you mind posting your settings? I have been playing for years and I cannot get this feature to ever work. I fully believe it is something on my end, so any help would be appreciated.

If you have arbitration, teams can go over

How are people determining the salary cap number? I only tried once or twice and dont recall a "auto cap" setting or something like it.

Both times I just threw out a number and not sure if it had any real impact on the game. (ie too high). Would like to get into "salary issues" situations.

Seems with all my franchises I can with with low payroll so I always have TONS of cash to spend. There hasn't been many times when I haven't been able to resign a player. (in that situation my teams payroll skyrocket because of all the arbitration cases (Jays))
