Am I doing something wrong?

So I am attempting to start a historical simulation starting from 1930. I wanted to have it so there is no color barrier so the Negro League players could integrate early. I set up the historical league, and when I look at the Negro League teams there's only 8 teams available, No Pittsburgh Crawfords or Homestead Grays, and half of the rosters aren't even filled with the players. I'm unable to find guys Like Josh Gibson. He doesn't even exist.

Should I be downloading a different database or something? Am I doing something wrong? Are there certain settings I should be using?

1930 is probably not the best year to start with if you're looking to play with Homestead or Pittsburgh (or Josh Gibson), as Pittsburgh did not exist until 1931 and Homestead (and Gibson) did not play in the organized Negro Leagues that year, instead appearing instead appearing as an independent team, which means they do not show up in OOTP for that year.

If you play ahead, or decide to start a new game in a different year, then Homestead will likely show up either starting in 1932 in the East-West League or in 1933 in the Negro National League (I do not remember which offhand) and Pittsburgh should also first show up in one of those years.

The rosters not being filled is just an issue with how many players are available in the db. Negro League teams did not typically use what we would consider full rosters, so it's not unusual to have a team with only a relative handful of players, especially in the first couple years after you start a save. As you sim forward, more players will import to the league and that should tend to fill out the rosters a bit in future years.

Homestead Grays exist in OOTP: 1932-1944 (except not in 1934), plus 1948.
Pittsburgh Homestead Grays: 1945-1947
The 1922 team is a different franchise, and in the East-West League; the others (33-48) are the same franchise in the Negro National League.

Pittsburgh Keystones: 1922 (Negro National League)
Pittsburgh Crawfords: 1932 (East-West Lg)
Pittsburgh Crawfords: 1933-1938 (Negro National League), different franchise that the '32 Crawfords.

Thank you, quick question, do I need to have the Negro League teams enabled? Or as long as I have the color barrier disabled, will they show up in the free agent pool/draft

I believe you need to have the minor leagues enabled (1915). I added some minor leagues in the 1880's for a place for the excess players.
