More playoff options

It would be great to see more playoff options - especially with the inclusion of tournaments - would help immensely.
Such as: Page-McIntyre, the original system (basic is: Game 1: 3 vs.4; Game 2: 1 vs. 2; Game 3: loser 1v2 vs. winner 3v4, Game 4: Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3).
McIntyre Final Eight System:
1st Qualifying Final: 4th seed vs 5th seed
2nd Qualifying Final: 3rd seed vs 6th seed
3rd Qualifying Final: 2nd seed vs 7th seed
4th Qualifying Final: 1st seed vs 8th seed
1st Semi-final: 4th highest-ranked winner vs 2nd highest-ranked loser
2nd Semi-final: 3rd highest-ranked winner vs 1st highest-ranked loser
1st Preliminary Final: Highest-seeded Qualifying Final winner vs winner of 1st Semi-final
2nd Preliminary Final: Second-highest-seeded Qualifying Final winner vs winner of 2nd Semi-final
Grand Final: winner of 1st Preliminary Final vs winner of 2nd Preliminary Final
There are other variants.

The other thing missing - going back to the addition of tournaments - are place games. At the very least - a 3rd place game.
Some tournaments are single-, or double-elimination tournaments.
Others are single elimination to decide a champion, but the losers play games to determine their final placement.

Speaking about tournaments:
Many condensed tournaments start the playoffs the day after the end of the "regular season."
Is this possible to add - An option to start the playoffs, the day after the group stage (or season) ends?
