Could not download PT league file
When I try to open my PT league, and when I try to check tournaments, this is the message I get:
Could not download PT League file! Please try to restart OOTP. If the error persists, please try again in a few minutes, there is likely a temporary server outage. I've received this message since yesterday evening. I did find a workaround for the tournaments. As long as I join a tournament and then get into "Set Rosters" before the tournament fills, then I can continue to access it until completion. The weird thing about the workaround, though, is that my team logo changes every tournament I can access. If the tournament has finished and I was unable to download the file while it was running, then if I "Examine" the tournament I get the message saying that the file doesn't exist because it's deleted after 48 hours. If you need current tournament ID's, as of this moment I am in 6905, 6906, 6907. 05 and 06 I used the workaround and can access, 07 I purposefully did not and I get the error message above. Haven't figured out a workaround to get into my PT. I've completed all the IT Crowd sanctioned steps. |

The team is on it, but for me it was a Comcast issue. I was able to fix the bug by disabling my Xfinity advanced security. These were the instructions I followed: https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-...t/true#M215393
Able to access everything now while I wait for the devs to unload their fury on Comcast. |

Hey y'all,
Yes we have seen the download issues that have sprung up today (12/22) effecting users from being able to get PT updates or view box scores. We have noticed that for many users the issue may be stemming from Xfinity's internet and specifically a safebrowsing blocker Xfinity uses. If you are an Xfinity internet customer we would highly recommend you disable the safebrowse.io or xFi advanced security feature on your Xfinity account. https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-...t/true#M215393 If you are still seeing issues or are not an Xfinity user please do let us know by sending us a support ticket with your issue. We are still actively making sure everyone can get access to our servers as we approach the holidays. We do have other steps to take if that does not resolve your issue. Thanks Alex Last edited by Kris Jardine; 12-22-2020 at 10:37 PM. |

Possible solved
Had same error with Comcast (Xfinity).
Started VPN (Virtual Private Network). OOTP fully working now. Merry Christmas ![]() Oh yes, Alex if this solves at least part of the problem, Perfect Points would be an awesome thank you... LOL. Last edited by Hanzle; 12-23-2020 at 01:34 PM. |

We are aware of the issues plaguing some users with connecting to our PT Servers for downloading league updates and tournament files. We believe the issue is a problem with our server not being permitted to send the .zip folder OOTP uses to update the program about leagues and tournaments. Trace files from users have shown us that the program connects to our servers but is being prevented from downloading the correct .zip folder to begin the update process. We are working on our end to figure out if the issue stems from a change regarding our servers. We have a few steps and things to attempt below that may get your issue fixed.
We have noticed that for many users the issue may be stemming from Xfinity's internet and specifically a safebrowsing blocker Xfinity uses. If you are an Xfinity internet customer we would highly recommend you disable the safebrowse.io or xFi advanced security feature on your Xfinity account. https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Email-...t/true#M215393 For Cox users there is an advanced security feature which is turned on automatically if you have the Cox Panoramic Wifi App installed and configured. It may be similar to what Xfinity uses which caused the outage issues for Comcast users. If you do have the Cox Panoramic Wifi App I would highly recommend following the instructions below to verify that your advenced security settings are reviewed and potentially turned off. Again these are advanced security measures that run on top of the default filters and firewalls that are put in place by your IP. 1-From the Cox Panoramic Wifi App, tap More. 2-From the More Options screen, tap My Services. 3-Below the Advanced Security section, select Disable and follow the onscreen prompts. If neither of those two options above apply to you we do have other things to review in case there are other programs or issues causing your connection drops to our servers. 1-We highly recommend that any/all anti-virus, firewalls, or monitoring programs you have on your computer whitelist OOTP as exceptions to being restricted. BitDefender is a known program we use as an example that will actually halt the access OOTP has to not only the internet but also to your files and hard drive. It and programs like it can cause some issues with OOTP. 2-We also advise making sure that you in addition to the first step run your game as administrator (if you are a win OS user). Running the game as administrator is quite easy to setup. For steam users follow these instructions. Go to your steam library, right click on the OOTP 21 program, and select properties. On the local files tab under properties go to view local files. That will bring up the location of your OOTP21.exe file that steam runs. We need to right click on that .exe and go to properties and under the compatability tab we can choose to run this program as an adminstrator. 3-Due to the fact that some users have seen issues with Card faces when opening packs I also highly recommend the deletion of 2 folders from your OOTP game. They will come back after you open the game once again so you won't be in any harm to remove these folders from your computer. The first folder we need to delete is your Online_Data folder which can be found where the game is installed under your data folder. The usual location of this folder is either C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Out of the Park Baseball 21\data\online_data if you are a steam user or C:\Program Files (x86)\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21\data\online_data if you are a standalone (FastSpring) user. The second folder we recommend to delete is all of your PT save game folders. These are located in your saved_games folder and all end in .pt. These are all folders the game has to download and create when it loads your PT team and the league you are playing in each week. We recommend clearing those just so the server has to redownload those files just in case something got messed up on that end and the server is having issues due to that folder. 4-We have had users tell us that security features on their modem may also be a cause for the issue and that restarting their modem seemed to help the issue. We don't believe that will be a long term fix but for the current time it may allow you to at least get an update to your PT accounts. In addition to this if your modem or router have updates we do highly recommend updating them to the latest firmware. We will continue to try and get this issue resolved both on our end and users ends. Thank you for your patience as we try and figure out what has been changed that caused the sudden disconnection. Thanks Alex |
