AI making illegal trades

In my save I received news of a trade between the A's and the Pirates. Only trouble is that the Pirates dealt Oakland a player they had just drafted two months earlier, which is against MLB rules, and I know this is enforced in the game because when I've tried to trade for certain prospects I've received the message "the player cannot be traded as he was drafted less than a year ago".

This may have happened several times before but it caught my eye this time because the story referred to a 17-year-old as part of the deal.

I believe this is actually a checkbox that can be turned on or off in the settings, so I would guess you have it turned off in your league.

It's from a pull-down menu, and as you can see here it's set at "1 year" (which I presume is the default, since it's the MLB rule and I've never fiddled with it)




And as I mentioned, I've not been able to trade for any recently drafted players as I get the "cannot be traded" message when I try to include one in a deal. So the AI gets to do something against the settings (and the rules).
