Returning after a LONG absence, looking for old friends!
Hey everyone! Long time no see, if anyone remembers me, which is the hope of my post.
I hadn't played in many years, but I just recently saw the new Perfect Team, and heard that they'd really improved some things, so I am back. I hope to return to being the positive influence on the forums I once was, though I'm unsure with how much the game has progressed, if my expertise is even valuable anymore. (For those that don't know, I did a lot of work and testing back in the day in order to help people set the budgets they wanted to use for ALL teams in their saves, and also did a lot of Random Debut testing.) I'm going to be purchasing a website now that I am older, too, and hopefully re-creating my old "Level Playing Field" save, and just a place where people who are BoxScoreAddicts can go. Anyway, it is good to be back, and I hope there are still some old friends here nowadays. Here's guessing I will see you in Perfect Team to start, as that is the first place I am headed! |

Thanks!I'm definitely enjoying Perfect Team so far. I didn't know the game was on sale, so thinking I was spending $29.99 and only spending $19.99, I got two Gold packs to help start my team and pulled a 91 Rube Waddell to lead my rotation. I won my first game behind Waddell's usual brilliance, with him working eight and only giving up a single earned run. Mike Gonzalez got the save, and Henry Rodriguez hit the game-winning two-run blast in the first inning. 1-0, baby! ![]() I've already put together a decent team, I'm excited! Good to be back! |

I'm now in the process of joining the Discord, I'm always willing to help anyone in need with questions, I've been a player of OOTP since the beginning, essentially, so I have a lot of knowledge on the game, and if I can help anyone, I'm happy to do so.
As far as Perfect Team, I want to put down full disclosure and say that with my initial purchase of the game included, I have spent $91.09 on the game. Here's what I have been able to assemble. I have changed my team name due to going through the Nicknames Project that I used back in the day, and it is every bit as amazing as it was. I switched my name and we are now the Motor City Marshals! That will be my team name for the duration now. At time of writing, we are 116-50 in our Entry Pool League. We're technically second to an amazing squad in the New Philly Phankees, who have come in at a blistering 70-16. I'm not exactly sure how the promotion works but I think I'll go up, I led most of the way until he came into the picture -- and deservedly so, his team is amazing and I'd be curious how much more he spent than I did at the start here. ![]() Motor City Marshals: (*=Current Starter) C - J.P. Realmuto (96)* C - Buster Posey (79) 1B - Jeff Bagwell (97)* 1B - Andres Galarraga (88)*=DH 2B - Brian Roberts (89)* 2B - Jeff McNeil (79) 3B - Nolan Arenado (95)* SS - Francisco Lindor (96)* SS - Trea Turner (89) SS - Corey Seager (89) LF - Giancarlo Stanton (87)* CF - Mike Trout (100)* CF - Jackie Bradley Jr. (78) RF - Bobby Bonds (89)* RF - Darryl Strawberry (79) SP - Max Scherzer (99) SP - Stephen Strasburg (98) SP - Noah Syndergaard (95) SP - Randy Johnson (95) SP - Rube Waddell (95) CP - Mike Gonzalez (89) SU - Aroldis Chapman (96) (He just came in, M.G. had 38 saves, 2.07ERA) SU - Heath Bell (85) MR - Pierce Johnson (78) MR - Tex Carleton (82) (Just pulled him finishing Gold Pack mission) LR/ES - Rick Porcello (79) (Just recently demoted to long reliever as I finished my Diamond rotation, he was great all season. 29 starts, 32 total appearances and he is 17-4 with a 4.08, a 1.19 WHIP and 2.8 WAR) ----- I originally bought the two Gold Packs to get me off and running. The rest I purchased points, and went for immediate player upgrades and started trying to work the Auction House to get some easy Mission work done. The wife and I didn't break the budget with me getting off to a good start, and if I was playing NBA2K for instance, I'd have instantly spent $110 to get a MyPlayer up to even an 85 Overall... so I look it as money well spent. Especially since I am going to start that website and really delve into baseball, as I'm permanently disabled so I have nothing but time. I think I'm going to restart my stream on Monday with OOTP as my full-time stream gig, and have some fun on there talking baseball. Especially with everything going on in the world, talking baseball and box scores is a great escape. It is good to be back! |
