no arrows on rosters & transactions screen

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here yet. Apologies if it has.

Please offer an option to remove those green and red arrows next to players on the rosters & transactions screen. I don't want to have opinions of coaches or whoever being so prominently displayed there, and, frustratingly, I don't believe that a way to remove them exists.

there used to be a way to remove arrows (or at least hide them) , but i didn't see that option when i gave a quick look through settings on this years version.

you 'could' replace the up and down image files found in /data/<skin name>/images with null. But if those arrows are used elsewhere I suppose that would impact that.

When I go to Out of the Park Baseball 21/data/skins and then go into each of the three folders - ootp classic, ootp dark and ootp light - all that's there are defaults.cfg and skin.bin. So, I would have no idea how to do what you're recommending, unfortunately.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...82&postcount=1 will get you started. In short, you need to download the source files for the skin(s) you want to edit. then you will find various directories of images and parts of images that are able to be edited. Once you've made all the visual changes you want, delete the appropriate skin.bin file and it'll be automatically rebuilt when you restart the game. your changes will be reflected. check out https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=321031 as well...quite of bit of troubleshooting and discussion in that thread about editing skins and some potential reasons you may encounter having problems doing so

Thanks, but after looking those over, I'm still confused. For example, the first post sent me to the same folders that I referenced in my last post but didn't tell me what I'm supposed to be doing there. However, I may research this more later.

you need to download the source files first. From Add on Central. Link is at the bottom of the load screen when you first fire up the game. Before loading a saved game.

Do you mean Workshop Central? If so, I head there and I see 115 items, but none of them appear to be any source files.

I went and "Subscribed" to that. Now what? Those files in that folder have not changed. I also saw that "Some games will require you to relaunch them before the item will be downloaded," so I relaunched it, and that didn't help. Plus, "Depending on OS version and settings it might be needed to run the game as admin to install this add-on," but I see no way to run the game as admin. Right-clicking the icon doesn't give me that option, and neither does right-clicking the game in my Steam library.

I don't have the Steam version so unfortunately can't speak to this from first hand knowledge. Reading the instructions on the workshop, it seems that you have to delete the skin.bin file to "trigger" the contents to be downloaded and forcing the game to rebuild?

Thank you!

I was about to give up as nothing had gotten triggered, and it seemed to me that nothing had even gotten downloaded. (I also looked in my "Downloads" folder, but nothing was in there either.) But then I suddenly had a thought to look elsewhere in my steamapps folder ... and there's a workshop folder there, and inside of it is what I had subscribed to. So, now that I knew where the contents went, I moved that skin.bin file out of the way, moved the subscribed folders over there, deleted the two arrows that I wanted deleted ... and it's now all working exactly how I want it to: when I go onto the Rosters & Transactions page, there are no longer any up or down arrows next to players' names.

I still feel that those arrows should be removable through a check box, but I'm happy that I was, in the end, able to remove them myself.
