Actual pitches thrown stats & Pitches Thrown
Since ootpb logs each pitch and it uses it for fatigue, how can i added stat of pitches thrown, balls, strikes to pitching stats view?
Can we get break down of each pitch type thrown? Charlie Hough - Pitches 80, Strikes 70, balls 10, Knuckle 80, knuckle strike 70, knuckle balll 10. Interesting for me (i am probably alone) to see. Then maybe down the road I'd like to set up strategy for catcher to throw Knuckle 80% and fastball 20% |

I play with the strike zone window enabled and expanded to show the pitch type and pitch speed. I'm mad at myself because I can't remember the pitcher's name now, but one of his innings on the mound against my team went like this: Batter 1: 6 pitches thrown - 6 change-ups Batter 2: 5 pitches thrown - 5 change-ups Batter 3: 2 pitches thrown - 2 change-ups Batter 4: 5 pitches thrown - 5 change-ups Batter 5: 3 pitches thrown - 3 change-ups After the second batter, I clicked on the pitcher's name to see what was up with this guy. His repertoire consisted of 3 pitches: Slider, Curveball & Change-Up. His slider was his highest rated pitch at 60/60. His change-up was a 55/55. His curveball was a 45/55. This was a Spring Training game and that ended up being his last inning pitching for my opponent, so I didn't get to see what a second inning might look like. 21 pitches in one inning with 21 change-ups? Come on. If that were common, then it wouldn't even be considered a change-up!! He's not changing anything. ![]() ![]() Finally, I would love to have some way to influence the way our pitchers pitch. For instance, Mariano Rivera throws his 4-seam fastball much more than his Cutter. I think it would be awesome if we could adjust something to influence pitching. Even if we can't put specific numbers into a feature like this, it would still be great if each pitch had a slider next to it in the players Game Strategy. A slider from Less to More.

The pitcher was working on their change-up. My understanding is that the game does not simulate pitch by pitch that way. And that the pitch types are used more generally. |

Would love to see something like this used in conjunction with coaches (pitching) to either shore up a pitch, minimize using a different one.
But the flip side would be hitting coaches looking at pitcher's tendencies; like "sit on Hough's knuckle ball" (like he'd throw anything else, but you get the point since he was already being used as an example) |
