spring training AI managers

During spring training games the AI manager is equipped to take starting players out of the game earlier than regular season games. For the most part I think it works well except for these 2 things:

1. Most starting players are pinch hit for and replaced after they've had 3 ABs - except for the catcher. For some reason he is usually given 4 ABs before be substituted for.
In my opinion, the catcher should also be given 3 ABs (or less) and then replaced. In spring training the catcher rarely plays the whole game - because you usually have an expanded roster with several catchers. But with the spring training AI manager, especially if it is a low scoring game (meaning less ABs) or the catcher is in the lower part of the batting order, your catcher ends up playing all or most of the game. **This seems like it would be an easy fix by simply programing the catcher position the same as the others.

2. Unless they get bombed in the first few innings, starting pitchers are usually removed by the AI manager after pitching 4 innings - all good - makes sense. In the 5th inning sometimes the next pitcher in the game is the closer - also okay in spring trining......BUT sometimes your closer is left in for 3 or 4 innings of relief - your closer never really pitches that many innings or throws that many pitches in a regular season game. Seems really weird that the closer would pitch 3-4 innings in spring training even with sometimes 20 or more pitchers on the spring train rosters.

Yes, I think the managers strategy seems to overwrite the ST logic at times

The starters seem to play way too much under the AI

I should compare spring training innings and PA's vs real life. I won't. Not right now.
