Rehab assignments

Is there any ability to tailor the length of rehab assignments? I've looked all over but didn't see it.

You can move the player back to the MLB roster manually at any point or are you talking about teams managed by the computer?

Thank you, I realise it was because my Active roster was full when I was looking that the option to promote the player wasn't coming up. Appreciate the input.

What I would like is the ability to send a player on a rehab assignment if his injury itself is over but he still has time left on the IL. I believe IRL MLB teams can do this, although I may be wrong.

Hmm

I don't know if this is true. Can a player start a rehab assignment before spending 60 days on the IL? I would think so, but I don't know.

Not to undo any recently built up goodwill, but
1) isn't that what Art Deco said?
2) it's not really true. I'm certainly not a professional athlete, but every time I've had a significant injury, I always returned to participating in activities before my injury was healed.

Of course "healed" is a nebulous term.

Any player on the DL can be assigned to the minors on a rehab assignment. There is no limit on how long a player must be on the DL before he can be assigned. There is a limit on how long the player can remain on rehab and the player needs to consent to it.

1) no....He said he wished it were true....
2) If you can return to activities before it is healed, why did you stop the activities in the first place?... Rehab is for getting back into shape after an injury is healed. The rehab rules specifically state that if a recurrence of the symptoms that sent a player to the DL resurface the player must be recalled from the assignment and remain inactive for a specific number of days.

Players on rehab assignments should be able to be optioned to the minors

Currently, the only options are to add them to the major league roster or DFA them
