when you have a power hitter up with a high contact rating is "pitch around" the best thing to do?
When do you shift your infield or your outfield ? i seen that option in the game but not sure in what situation when someone would use it. There are a lot of options to sift the infield so i'm trying to figure it out when people would use those types of situations, so i can use the game to it's maximum potential so your help would be appreciated. My other question is about the farm system....When you draft a player when you see the potential of a player is that accurate. Is the scouting predictions correct in what they expect them to become?....could a low predicted player become a good player? could a big predictions turn in to crap? how do i look at these young players? could you explain all this to me please and how to understand all this please? Also when you draft a player how long does it take for that player to become a good or bad? in other words how long does it take to reach the expectations of a given player and how do you draft? do you draft by what the potential of players potential characteristics? does a players personality have anything to do with how you draft and if so how? please help me understand all of this...please help me understand this so i can understand and how i can play this game better |

I shift infield and outfield against pull hitters always, but only pull hitters. Quote:
No, the scouting predictions for potential aren't all that accurate. They're more like a hint. Many of the highly rated players end up being crap but they obviously have a good chance of being OK. 99% of the low rated players also end up being crap. Most players don't make it. Most players hit their full potential by age 26. But someone who really isn't performing well in the minors by age 23 is never going to perform. How you draft depends on the kind of team you want. But I wouldn't draft a relief pitcher until at least the 4th round. I look and see if a player has the talent to be a good fielder before just drafting him for the bat. Bad fielders always stay bad. I personally never draft someone with a low work ethic or fragile durability unless they're amazing for that stage of the draft. Work ethic is the most important personality feature for me, then intelligence. I don't care at all about the others when I'm drafting. It's 2:40 am.... how did I end up on this forum right now? |
