Watched a real game last night

After immersing myself in OOTP for longer than ever, I took the time to watch about 7 and a half innings of a playoff game last night (Suppan vs. Perez, 2006 NLCS), and two things I noticed that might be significantly different stood out:

1. The bouncing ball - I know OOTP is mostly a statistics-generated game and maybe it should stay that way, but I enjoyed the ball hopping along on the playing surface.

2. The anatomy of a single AB - I'm not sure if this is in OOTP or not, normally even if I watch a full replay, it is only the ball put in play that is shown...But somebody mentioned Lo Duca being the best 2-strike hitter in baseball. When a hitter gets behind in the count, he often fouls off a pitch if he can...Mookie Wilson in the 1986 World Series, Gm. 6 fouled off something like 8-10 pitches I think including a wild pitch before he finally bounced one down the first base line for the victory. Contact hitters shorten there swing to ensure contact with 2 strikes.

1) simulating the real world in graphics is difficult

2) change to pitch by pitch mode. I’m guessing you are on one pitch mode.

Yes that ^^^

I've had some great 3-2 battles. Longest AB in my save was 18 pitches.

Bah. OOTPB is the "real game." The stuff that you watch on TV is "fake sports."
