Card Opening Poll
If you have over 100 packs (I'm currently sitting at 170) what would you rather do when it comes to opening them?
(Poll options above)

I am superstitious about it. I have always seemed to have better luck ripping 100+ at a time, so I always do it at once.

I normally open up about 20 at a time but I also haven't saved up this many cards from collection missions and tournament winnings before. If I remember correctly, there was going to be another collection mission announced using new cards that would only be available in packs after the missions go live. I'm waiting on that at the moment, otherwise I would have probably opened them all up by now.

Okay, so I will most likely open them all in a marathon session. I like opening packs in the fast draw manner but not the instant option. Much like Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder version of course) I like the suspense of it.
If they announce the new packs only mission set collection this week, I will open the packs up that following Tuesday and post the results here. Why Tuesday you ask??? Because I'm a baseball fan and am over the top superstitious. I have my worst pack pulls on Fridays thru Mondays and also had a pretty bad pack opening session when new cards were available on Thursday evenings when the new cards were released in packs.

I'm actually sitting at over 200 packs at the moment (which I wasn't counting on originally) and have decided to split it down the middle in terms of pack openings. Yesterday, I had 214 packs so I decided that I would only open the 14 standard packs and keep my collection level at 200 even until I open the first 100 packs on Tuesday. I don't normally open packs on weekends due to ridiculous superstition but I did end up with a Perfect Live Bellinger on the first pack and grabbed a few more golds including one historical in those 14 packs, so yeah I'm not going to complain about that. So the plan is... Tuesday afternoon (20 October) I will open 100 Standard packs and give a breakdown of pull numbers of card types rated 70 and above. Hopefully it goes well, but I'm not counting on it. I will then open another 100 packs the following Tuesday however the last 14-16 packs are a mix of historical and gold packs so I will factor that into my results. In the meantime I am just going to open any additional standard packs over my current 200 as I earn them before I begin the mass pulls. As a FTP guy this is probably my last opportunity to earn some more points in decent numbers until OOTP 22 comes along next year.

A fairly depressing return on the 100 standard packs I opened today. Not one historical diamond in the mix.
Diamond Cards (2) 2 Live Zero Historical Gold Cards (13) 9 Live 4 Historical Silver Cards (29) 22 Live 7 Historical

Okay, so I went against my superstition since Tuesday was not that great for the first 100 packs and I pulled the last 100 today. I had better results even before I began ripping the last dozen or so packs that were not standard packs. Pulled 2 historical diamonds in the standards and a Perfect Live card. I knew I would probably end up pulling a Perfect card just before I began opening the historical ones. Oh well, can't be too upset about it. It was certainly a better 100 pack pull than Tuesday.
Last 100 Perfect (1) 1 Live Diamond Cards (2) 2 Historical Gold Cards (26) 13 Live 13 Historical/Non-Live (6 drawn from 5 historical packs, 4 from 6 Gold packs) Silver Cards (30) 19 Live 11 Historical (4 from 5 historical packs)

Glad you had better luck, that first 100 was trash! You'll get a nice surprise if/when you list Mark Buehrle...

You were not lying about Buerhle. Glad I waited until these new collection missions came out.

Yeah, so that Wait Hoyt was one of the new mission cards as well. I put it up for a straight bid yesterday starting at 50K and it sold last night for 170K. The Buerhle card I sold for about 55K. Yeah, I'd say I'm happy with that return, especially as an FTP guy.
