A Diamond League underdog just won the 2042 D366 League championship

Wow, kudos to the Kigali Broilers of the 2042 D366 league owned by mwreinhold. I don't know who you are but that has to be one of the greatest playoff runs by a team who was on paper, overmatched by a pretty decent margin by every team they faced in the playoffs. This team did not have one FOTF player on their roster and their entire starting pitching staff did not have a single 100 rated pitcher. Only 100 rated pitcher was Bobby Matthews in the pen. The combined regular season record of the teams they beat in the playoffs was 332-154 with one of those teams having won 129 games and they swept them. Granted you will probably get annihilated at Perfect level, but enjoy the bubbly tonight.

Starting Staff
99 Grove
99 Maddux
97 Ford
96 Blyleven
94 Petite

The key is to make the playoffs. Once there, anything can happen.

Congrats to the underdog Broilers team for winning.

Your over/under for next week in Perfect is 49 wins.

Yeah my I haven't been to Perfect league in OOTP 21 but I can imagine its like Hunger Games on steroids after being in the Diamond League for a long time now (though I just got relegated this week). The Perfect League from last year is what Diamond is now. Funny that you mentioned this about making the playoffs. I went to check on my old free to play team in OOTP 20 and they won their first Perfect League title last night. Granted last years version had a lot more 96-99 rated historical pitchers that could really give you consistently great value than OOTP 21 at the highest levels as long as you gave them a good defense.

I should be back up at diamond with my free to play team in OOTP 21 by next week unless I get bounced early in the playoffs or my team really under performs this season. I have a lot of perfect points saved up but I am doing my best to wait until at least the next FOTF sets come out. I doubt I will have the patience to wait until all the sets are released but I have about 53 regular packs and a couple gold packs to keep me busy this week and hope I draw a few good cards along the way.

Broilers off to a rough start, 6-20. But shoutout to silver live Britton, who has thrown 2 scoreless frames.

Last years perfect league was much much easier and you could be successful with a fraction of the team value that it takes to be successful in this years diamond

Yeah, you're right. This years Perfect Team is dominated by offense. Last year you could field a good defensive team with above average hitting and surround it with 95-99 level rated pitchers and win 85-95 games a year at Perfect Level. You would be lucky to get 75 wins with that in Diamond this year. Gold is sort of in a weird zone this year. It's not nearly as hardcore as diamond has been getting over the past month, but now that I am back down in Gold again for maybe just this week, there isn't as much disparity as there between teams as there was the last time I was in Gold sometime back in May or early June.
