Entry Level Contracts

I've tried to sign a few young free agents to entry level contracts. I made the first offer and then the next day they said it wasn't good enough. They asked for more money than the max entry level contract ($925,000). I was unable to make them an offer at the max because of this and they signed with someone else.

Are you on the latest version? If so, give specific names/players and what team they were with previously.

It's the latest version, but the game was created before the most recent updates.

Basically it said something like they wanted slightly over a million per year and if I set it to the max and asked for a response they got mad and therefore I could not submit the offer.

This happened to me with a few of my draftees, who ended up signing with the KHL. So I couldn't sign them because the NHL honors KHL contracts.

The pre-update start may have something to do with it, but I'd still like to have a look at that save just in case if you can upload it (uploading instructions here.)

I found another example of this problem. I can upload the save, but that link is wrong. Can you resend?

When this happens to me it's always because they received better offers from the KHL.

This has happened to me in my last save, unfortunately I've deleted the save. It happened to me with Alex Newhook and a couple other college prospects, who's teams chose to let their rights go. They all signed in the NHL on an ELC after asking me for above 1 million per season.

They may have gotten an offer from another team before you tried to offer them, and therefore they wanted more. It may be the logic in the game of getting contract offers when you have never had a contract with an NHL franchise before. The logic doesn't recognize that it's not allowable to get a contract offer higher than the maximum rookie deal.

Thanks. Looks slightly different than past cases we've seen of this, so we'll have to investigate a little further. In the meantime, since you have commissioner mode on anyhow, I would just edit in a contract for Stefansson with the correct $925/70 3-year ELC terms.
