Making Certain Leagues/Teams Worse
Hello. I have just finished creating a NCAA league. I have created all 32 NCAA Division 1 baseball conferences and made them into their own (major) leagues with an NCAA Association and annual tournament.
I have disabled financials, free agency, trading and draft, set age limit to 18-22 and barred foreign players. Now I am trying to come up with a system to make the smaller conferences perpetually worse overall than the major conferences. I have set the league reputations in a way that seems fair but that isn't appearing to really influence where players sign. While I have limited NCAA tournament bids to champions only for the smaller conferences, I want to avoid some schools no one's heard of making deep runs every year. Certain conferences I have set a region if it's contained in a small enough area and have noticed players on these teams are all from this region. Would changing league region settings to team based help? For example, a small school such as Delaware State only getting players from Delaware. Would the game generate players from Delaware based on any sort of metric or will they just make more players from Delaware that are good? My only idea thus far is restricting limits to team based region in the real small conferences and maybe restricting to a region for the mid-tier conferences and the Power 5 conferences to no-region and allowing them to sign players from all over but again, I'm not sure if the amount of quality players per state/regions is accurately generated or are the same with the only difference being how many are made. Other ideas I've had is maybe enabling an association draft between the larger conferences or even allowing them to have financials to lure the best players in the universe and leaving the rest to the smaller conferences. Or is there some league based option to edit percentage of quality players per league that I am missing? I did notice the statistics editor in the league creations but would assume this would just reduce baseline league statistics and not really the quality of players in the league. Thank you for any help. Last edited by Ayako; 08-21-2020 at 07:05 PM. |

How are the players being created? It sounds like they are not being created by the NCAA leagues. There is a way to change the quality of players created by leagues with PCM's but that won't work if the players are not created by the leagues.
It sounds like the players are being created somewhere else and being signed as free agents by the NCAA leagues. Without financials, free agent players will sign with whichever teams asks them on a first come, first serve basis. If my assumptions are correct, then the way to make the power conferences get most of the best players is to enable financials and give them budgets that are massively bigger than the smaller conferences. |

Where do you go to do/see this? I just implemented the leagues/teams and made the association (NCAA). I don't recall seeing any options for player creations and keeping their free agent pools separate.

Is each league having their own draft? And do you have High School feeder leagues?
