Custom Databases in future versions

Are there any plans to adopt the editable database structure of OOTP in future versions, so that players can add new nations and the like? Or is that not possible given how the game has developed over the past four iterations?

No immediate plans. We use the world database more...aggressively, I guess you'd say, than OOTP does, so there are things in the code and the database that are very dependent on the data in the world db being a certain way. We're opening the safer bits up to editing gradually (like the national quality numbers in FHM6), but being able to replace parts of it wholesale probably won't ever happen.
