Historical Rookies - Minor Leagues
I just finished the first year of a historical league playing with the 1985 Yankees. Went through the off season and have started the preseason.
When do the historical rookies get imported and where do they go? I read somewhere that they get imported at the start of the preseason, but I'm several games into the preseason and don't see any of the players from the 1986 draft in the minor leagues. I have settings to import historical rookies and have disabled the amateur draft so they go to their real life teams. Also, noticed that all the minor league teams are duplicated with full rosters. I have two Columbus Clippers in AAA, two AA teams, two A teams, etc. |

Historical rookies should have appeared in DFA and the game refused to advance until you assigned them. Suggest you check Baseball Reference to determine the actual historical rookies for that year and find out where they are in OOTP.

For example, Jeff King, Matt Williams, Gary Sheffield and Bo Jackson were drafted in 1986. None of them were imported into the game. Will they show up in 1987, or should they have shown up in 1986? It does appear that everybody who was drafted in '85 and earlier is in here. |

Do you have "Import & maintain real minor leagues" enabled? You should see this checkbox under the Historical tab in your settings. If you don't see it, verify "Automatically expand league" is checked. Several additional options are made available when you check this.
With real minors enabled you are going to have 40 to 60 additional new players per team. Without it you should only see players who debuted in the majors... which will be around 7 players on average. All that said... there is something wrong with your league if you really have duplicates of all your minor league teams. I'd hope that's a visual error, but if it's not it's a bug I've never heard happen to someone before. To verify players aren't coming in as they should do a search for this test name... Gene Acevedo He shoud have been added to the Kansas City Royals system during th eoffseason. If he is not, and you have real minors enabled per above... then the issue is beyond me. If you didn't have real Minors enabled... you should have seen players in DFA on day one of the offseason as previousl described. In that case search for ... Brad Arnsberg He should have been one of the Yankkes offseason DFA players. Search for him in game if he is not in your organization. If he is in the league, but not in your organization, his transaction history on his player profile should tell you what happened.

Gene Acevedo is not in KCR system, but Brad Arnsberg is in the Yankees organization. In fact, he was in the org all of 1985 season. Something is definitely wrong. |
