Computer releasing stars

I am in a historical league and my team traded for Dennis Eckersley
and released him 10 days later. I don't understand because they traded a future star and another player for him. And the computer continues to trade future stars for over the hill players. I don't know if the problem is i know the players and their future, but i can't let the computer look after trades it sucks when they trade the best for the over the hill...I really wonder if this is a problem when only playing historical...but in the grand scheme it is a little matter of retaking control of trades. Just wondered if anyone else has this problem.....
