Settings for importing historical league rookies
I recently imported my Replay League from OOTP 19 to 21. (It has been going since OOTP 5, so this is not a new problem.) When the new rookie class was imported, guys with very short careers were not having their talents decreased. Even some guys that were 0-4 for their career were 2 stars. Is there a way to change the threshold PA/IP for adjusting players without importing manually?
The other related problem I have is that in the game settings, the historical players ratings have potential based on selected recalc period instead of peak seasons. Since I don't use recalc, this is not good! But you can't adjust that setting without turning on recalc, and when I turn on recalc to change it to peak seasons, recalc gets implemented and every player in league gets his abilities edited. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? My current plan is to change no settings, and manually reduce the talents of guys that didn't play much or otherwise need it. But I will have to do that every year, which is annoying. |

For what it is worth, I think I figured out the problem, if not the solution. I use neutralized stats for rookie ratings, and when I look at the neutralized stats for these guys with minimal playing time, the playing time goes way up. For example, the guy that was 0-4 in reality has neutralized stats with 200+ at bats. Not sure why that happens, but it seems to hamper the software's ability to adjust for playing time. One guy (just one!) of those that had minimal playing time had his neutralized stats keep the small number of plate appearances, and he turned out like he should.
