Games Stuck
I have 2 games stuck because I don't know what to do. I know there is no plan to make an "undo" button since that would defeat the purpose of the game, but I am having trouble with it and as you can tell by my username, I've had to restart the game 4 times due to not knowing the game mechanics and getting myself in impossible situations.
I saw some other thread about uploading a save or something so maybe someone could fix it in a way that I wouldn't know how. First one, I'm playing as the 2019-2020 Canucks, and as it was trade deadline, I was thinking of renewing contracts, and not knowing what I was doing, I cancelled the offers for nearly all of them, and none are willing to talk to me anymore. So essentially, half my team is going to walk at the end of the season. I don't really want to restart because the stars aligned and New Jersey was stupid enough to ASK for Loui Eriksson and his horrible contract for NOTHING, which is a miracle in my eyes. Second one, I'm trying the California Seals challenge. As usual, I suck and have lost most of the games, probably due to my incompetence, but that doesn't matter since I'm taking this as a learning experience. Anyway, I mis-clicked and the AI coach re-arranged the lines. Not knowing my backup goalie was injured in practice, I saw my 3rd string goalie in, so I sent him to the minors, thinking it was because he was playing well down there so he got called up. Now, the backup is on the injury list, I can't call up the 3rd goalie. This is frustrating because I've sunk 27 hours into the game so far and have made no progress at all because I keep messing up. If anyone has any idea how I can fix these, it would be really appreciated. Thanks. |

OK I figured out the second one.
I turned some minor league player into a goalie so he will back up for however long he needs to play. Would be bad if I simmed, the #1 goalie was given the hook, and some 20 year old kid who has never played goalie in his life has to take on the 1970 Boston Bruins. |

Your free agents (most of them, at least - there might be some guys who wanted to leave anyhow) won't refuse negotiations right until their contracts expire. Try making offers again in late June after the draft, most will be willing to talk by then. If you have expiring restricted free agents, you can also still make them a qualifying offer when they're refusing to negotiate, so you can keep their rights.
Re: the goalie thing, I would call your 3rd goalie back up as soon as possible (you should be able to just right-click on him and bring him back), or sign a free agent goalie - if the skater you've switched to goalie actually has to play in a game, that may cause a crash. |
